Edward R. Becker, MD

Edward R. Becker, M.D., has been a respected member of Palm Beach County’s medical community for over 25 years.

As a charter member of the medical staff at both Palms West Hospital and Wellington Regional Medical Center , he is one of the specialists who have helped set the standard for excellence for physicians and surgeons in our area. He has served as Chief of Surgery at Palms West Hospital for 6 years and was later appointed to the Board of Trustees. He is the current Vice-Chief of Surgery at Wellington Regional Hospital.

Rafael R. Lopez, MD

Dr. Rafael Lopez earned his medical degree at Columbia University’s college of physicians and surgeons in New York City in 1983. After attending Columbia University for his undergraduate studies, he completed his general surgical and urological surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania . He Joined Palm Beach Urology Associates in 1990 and brings over 30 years of experience to the practice. He practices general urology with an emphasis on a minimally invasive solution to urological problems.

Damian Portela III, MD

Dr. Damian Portela III is a board certified urologist who has been in practice for 13 years. He begun training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed his training at Saint Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan under the direction of Michael Grasso III where he finished a fellowship in minimally invasive/ laparoscopic techniques to treat urological conditions.

Georgis Patsias, MD

Dr. Georgis Patsias is a Board Certified Urologist. He received his M.D. degree from Cayetano Heredia University in 1982. Dr. Patsias served as a Surgical and Urology Resident at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. and in 1992 he finished his urological training as Chief Resident.

Once he completed his residency, Dr. Patsias went to New York where he obtained a fellowship in Male Infertility and Impotence at the New York University.

Fred Muhletaler, MD, FACS

Fred Muhletaler is a Fellowship-trained Robotic Urologist and Oncologist. He graduated from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. As a medical student he did rotations at the Vattikuti Urology Institute (VUI), Henry Ford Hospital. In 2002 he was probably the first medical student in the world to have second-assisted a Robot-assisted Radical Prostatectomy.

Sean L. Sawh, MD, FACS

Dr. Sean L. Sawh is a Urologist specializing in general urology, urologic oncology, endourology and stone disease. Dr. Sawh is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and, as the eldest son of the Caribbean’s preeminent urologist, it was very natural for him to follow in his father’s footsteps. Dr. Sawh graduated from University College Dublin where he received his Bachelor of Medicine (MB), Bachelor of Surgery (BCh) and Bachelor in the Art of Obstetrics (BAO) degrees. He completed his medical education and general surgery training at the prestigious Harvard Medical School. He underwent sub-specialist training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital then completed residency in urologic surgery at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
